The purpose and mission of Black Women of Achievement (B.W.A.) is to provide social, cultural, education, and physical development of women of color but especially African American women. We are here for the advancement of their individual and collective interest both on University of Oregon Campus and the community .B.W.A. serves as a foundation for African American women to come together and discuss issues affecting women, our community and women of color. BWA also sponsors forum that bring the University community together.In addition, B.W.A. sponsor cultural and social activities designed to attract the participation of the campus community and people of color. These events are Women’s Symposium, Women’s Empowerment luncheon, Ebony man, Hair Show, Higher Learning BWA Ball and Ethnic Hair Care day, and many more.
